Holiday garbage and recycling collection dates were shifted slightly due to the Christmas holiday.

Department of Waste Management workers were back on the job yesterday on east end garbage collection routes.

West end residential garbage and recyclables will be collected today (Saturday). Garbage collection will continue in the western parishes again on Monday, December 30, and Thursday, January 2, 2014. East end garbage will be collected on Tuesday, December 31 and Friday, January 3.

West End recyclables will be collected again on Thursday, January 9 and on Friday, January 10 for east end residents.

The Department of Waste Management strongly urges residents to comply with the holiday garbage and recycle collection schedules.
