A tanker en route to Morocco diverted to Bermuda last night after a crew member began to suffer suspected appendicitis.
According to the Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre, the LPG tanker Tessa Kosan was crossing the Atlantic after departing from Houston when a crew member, described as a 30-year-old Filipino national, began to suffer abdominal pains.
As a result, the ship steered towards Bermuda for the crew member to receive medical treatment. As of press time last night, the vessel was expected to meet a pilot boat off the coast of St George’s at around 1am to transfer the patient.
