Man charged with having carnal knowledge
A 34 year-old man was released on bail today after being charged with having carnal knowledge and sexually exploiting two young persons, both under the age of 14.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was not required to enter a plea in Magistrates’ Court as the offences are indictable.
He is charged with three counts of sexually touching a young person while in a position of trust, and two counts of having carnal knowledge with two young persons.
The offences are alleged to have occurred between September, 2010 and September, 2013, prosecutor Cindy Clarke told the court.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released the man on $25000 bail with one surety, under the condition he surrenders his travel documents, does not leave the jurisdiction without the court’s consent, and does not contact or in any way interfere with the complainant or witnesses in the various counts.
The man will reappear for mention on February 6.
