Police revealed today that gunshots were fired in Southampton on Friday evening but there were no reported injuries.

The incident took place minutes before midnight in the Horseshoe Road area.

“Forensic evidence collected from the scene confirmed that a firearm was discharged in that area. However, there were no reported injuries,” said a police spokesman.

“An active investigation into this confirmed firearm incident is ongoing and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone that may have seen suspicious persons or vehicles in the Horseshoe Road, Southampton area on Friday night to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.”
