The London to Bermuda British Airways flight yesterday was cancelled due to mechanical problems.

Passengers at Gatwick airport said they had been told that a double mechanical issue on the aircraft had forced cancellation.

One added that the airline had checked passengers into hotels and was rebooking them on Wednesday’s flight.

A spokeswoman for the airline said: “We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience.”

And she added flights were expected to be back to normal today.
