A plane en route to Trinidad was diverted to Bermuda this morning due to the smell of “electrical burning” in the cabin.
A police spokesman said today: “At 4.53am today a Caribbean Airline flight travelling from JFK in route to Trinidad with 106 passengers and crew on-board was rerouted to Bermuda as a result of the smell of electrical burning in the cabin.
“The plane landed incident free. No injuries were reported. The airport terminal was opened to accommodate all 106 passengers and crew.”
The plane has been grounded, and passengers and crew were this afternoon still at LF Wade International Airport awaiting a flight to their final destinations.
