CedarBridge Academy holds career fair

CedarBridge Academy students will be given insight into an array of job opportunities at a vocational career fair on Friday.

Major businesses are taking part in the event — titled Endless Possibilities — to help guide youngsters who are considering their first steps beyond school.

A CedarBridge spokesman said: “The purpose of the vocational career fair will allow each student to explore career aspirations and assess their life-planning skills.

“It will also give them the invaluable opportunity to connect with potential mentors, internship possibilities, and work experiences related to their career goals. The ultimate focus of the career fair is to provide students with career awareness, planning resources, and make community connections that will extend the process of learning beyond senior school.

“We are hoping that companies taking part will be able to provide the students with an in-depth look into various industry, exposing them to the expectations of the business, the skills required and education criteria necessary to work within this field.”

Businesses attending include: Air Care, Belco, Bermuda Gas, Bermuda Fire and Rescue, Bermuda Post Office, Bermuda Hospitals Board, Casiey Landscaping, D&J Construction, Department of Corrections, Fairmont Hamilton and Fairmont Southampton Resort, Grotto Bay, Noble Automotive, The Marketplace, Bermuda Telephone Company, Orchid Nail Spa, and Onion Patch Nursery.

The event will be held at the school’s gym between 10am and 2pm.
