$3,065 donation to WindReach is not peanuts
On the back of a nutty initiative, Bermuda General Agency (BGA) has donated more than $3,000 to local charity WindReach through the sale of peanuts.
A portion of the earnings generated from the sale of BGA’s peanuts, labelled ‘Bermuda is a Nutter World’, have for the past two years been slowly accumulating, with BGA’s buyer and creator of the initiative, Bethany Butcher, presenting a cheque of $3,063 to WindReach executive director Erica Fulton yesterday.
“We are honoured to be in a position to do this for WindReach,” said Ms Butcher, who added that BGA employees voted to pledge the donation to WindReach above two other charities.
Ms Fulton thanked BGA for the donation, saying: “Before this all went through, BGA told us this was going to happen.
“It was about two years ago, and I kind of totally forgot about it. And then I got an e-mail for a hugely generous cheque, which is fantastic.
“We are very thrilled, and surprised to see that so many nuts had been sold to benefit us, and also really touched having been chosen by BGA employees.”
