SAGE Bill imminent

The draft version of a Bill outlining Government’s spending cut proposals is “imminent”, Finance Minister Bob Richards told MPs.
The draft will be circulated ahead of public meetings on the recommendations of the Spending and Government Efficiency (SAGE) Commission being contemplated by Government.
“It’s a draft Bill — not a Bill,” Mr Richards said of the Public Bodies Reform Act, promising a series of town hall meetings to follow the release of the document.
Its release has been delayed as the document has been “bouncing back and forth while various highly trained people opine on what should and shouldn’t be in there”, the Finance Minister said.
“It will be disseminated to the public, and to the unions in particular.”
