A Pembroke man this morning denied smuggling more than 3,000 grams of cannabis into the Island

Malick Azhar, 32 of Fentons Drive, pleaded not guilty to importing cannabis on March 26 and possessing the controlled drug with intent to supply.

According to prosecutor Takiyah Burgess approximately 3,084 grams of the drug were seized with an estimated street value $154,250.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned the trial to September 5 and released Azhar on $25,000 bail.
