A Warwick man was today fined $800 after pleading guilty to cannabis possession.
Jace Levigne, 34, of Cobbs Hill, admitted the charges in Magistrates’ Court.
Police officers found Levigne in possession of 4.26 grams of the drug and 0.07 grams of cannabis resin on December 21 last year, prosecutor Loxly Ricketts told the court.
Officers on mobile patrol were travelling east on Malabar Road in Sandys when, approaching Boaz Lane, they saw Levigne standing alone acting “nervous” and “suspiciously”, said Mr Ricketts.
Officers then requested to search Levigne, which he agreed to, ultimately finding a “transparent package” and “paper twist” containing dried plantlike material and an “off-white substance”, after which he was arrested.
