A building area of low pressure is likely to become the first named tropical storm of the hurricane season – but Bermuda is unlikely to be affected.
Bermuda Weather Service said last night that a slow-moving area of low pressure was being tracked about 90 miles off the central east coast of Florida and was due to head north later this week.
“These low-pressure areas developing can change but right now the forecast doesn’t indicate it will affect Bermuda,” Meteorologist Jeff Torgerson said.
If the system does become a tropical storm it will be named Arthur.
