Hundreds of BTC customers who have experienced problems with their telephone lines this morning are back in service, according to the company.

A BTC spokeswoman told The Royal Gazette that about 2,000 customers, mostly in the west and a few in Devonshire, had been “experiencing issues” with voice service, but not data.

“Our network team is actively working on the matter,” she said. “I don’t have root cause yet, but it looks as if it was power-related.”

She added that more than half of the customers affected were now back in service.
