A gun was fired near the Mid-Atlantic Boat Club late last night, according to police.

Officers responded to a report of shots being heard at about midnight on North Shore Road, Devonshire.

A police spokesman said: “Forensic evidence collected from the scene confirmed that a firearm was discharged in the vicinity of the Mid-Atlantic Boat Club; however, there were no reported injuries.

“An active investigation into this confirmed firearm incident is ongoing and police are appealing for witnesses or anyone that may have seen suspicious persons or vehicles in the North Shore Road, Devonshire area near the Mid-Atlantic Boat Club around midnight Sunday to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.”
