Students urged to learn about IT internships
Students are encouraged to attend a networking event to learn about summer internships in the information technology industry.
IT professionals will be on hand to discuss opportunities, while current interns and alumni will talk about their experiences.
The event, hosted by the Technology Leadership Forum (TLF), will be at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club tonight from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
The internships are designed to prepare university and college students for a career in IT.
Dion Tucker, chief information officer for the Bermuda Hospitals Board and chair of the TLF, said the TLF internship programme provided valuable professional development opportunities for IT students through training, mentoring and work experience.
She added: “The networking reception will provide students with a unique opportunity to build contacts and relationships within the local ICT industry. It also provides industry leaders with a first-hand look at the up and coming Bermudian talent available.”
Sponsors and partners include the Ascendant Group, Bermuda Hospitals Board, the Department of E-Commerce, Logic Communications, CCS, ACT, RenaissanceRe, Elbow Beach Resort and Catlin.
