Firefighters are tackling a blaze in Warwick after brush caught fire just yards from a busy grocery store.

Two fire trucks are currently at the scene near Lindo’s Family Foods on Middle Road in Warwick.

One eyewitness said the flames covered an area of around 100 square feet and there were concerns that it could spread to nearby power lines.

So far Middle Road has remained open, although the witness said traffic was building up as motorists slowed down to catch a glimpse of the blaze.
