Non-Mariners Day cruise will benefit Women’s Resource Centre
A businessman plans to donate cash to a women’s charity from the proceeds of a Non-Mariners Day party cruise.
Khomeini Taalib-Din has chartered the MV Elizabeth for a daylong cruise as Bermudians celebrate one of the biggest events of the year next Sunday (August 3).
Mr Taalib-Din said he had served on the board of the Women’s Resource Centre (WRC) and he retained an interest in the work of the charity. He added: “I developed a good relationship. It’s a charity dear to my heart and I’m a community man and I want to something for the community.”
Mr Taalib-Din said it was the second year he had donated to the WRC, handing over $500 from a similar cruise last year. “We’re hoping to do the same this year.”
The MV Elizabeth will leave Albuoys Point at 10am on Sunday, returning at 6pm.
The $70 tickets include complimentary food, snacks and water, giveaways and 1000 free jello shots, as well as three DJs.
Tickets can be booked in advance or bought on the day.
