Man denies heroin possession
A Devonshire man pleaded not guilty to charges of drug possession when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning.
Michael Doucet, 32, denied possessing heroin and cannabis, as well as a pair of scissors and a scale for use in connection with a controlled drug, on November 9, 2012.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released Mr Doucet on $10,000 bail with one surety.
The case was adjourned to August 19.
Mr Doucet was due to appear in court yesterday morning. He was not present and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
• Marvin Woolridge, 51, of St George’s, pleaded not guilty to three separate theft offences when he also appeared in court.
Mr Woolridge denied stealing $5,200 from Elizabeth Hanson and being in possession of $5,200 obtained through criminal gain, on November 14 last year.
He also denied trespassing and stealing four boxes of chicken worth $200 from Dunkley’s Dairy on Vesey Street, Devonshire, on June 25, and stealing a saw worth $1,000 on July 5.
Mr Warner set bail at $2,000 and the case was adjourned to August 20.
