An 82-year-old woman was left clinging to rocks in the ocean for four hours after slipping and falling.
Police said she was rescued at about 3pm and rushed to King Edward Memorial Hospital.
She was saved after a passer-by walking in the area of Harrington Sound Road, behind the post office, heard faint cries then found the senior hanging on to the rocks.
The good samaritan called for help and emergency services got the woman safely out of the water.
Police said she was being assessed at the hospital, and thanked the woman who came to the senior’s aid as well as the emergency staff who rescued her.
