The lifeless body of a 75-year-old Devonshire man was discovered this afternoon in a boat near Devonshire Bay.

According to a police spokesman, emergency services received a report of a medical emergency in the area at around 4.30pm.

“It appears that members of the community saw a man motionless on a boat and summonsed emergency services,” the spokesman said. “First responders attended and a 75-year-old Devonshire man was pronounced dead by a physician at the scene.

“No further information will be given until the next of kin have been notified and foul play is not expected.”
