Man talks his way into prison

A 41-year-old man talked his way into prison today by shouting and repeatedly swearing in court.

Dellman Daniels argued with Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner, saying, “Hey, I don’t give a s**t and f**k it.”

Daniels was accused of uttering threatening words in the Court Liaison Room yesterday after he went to the court building to find out the status of a case in which he was a complainant.

He became upset during a discussion with officers about the case saying, “What not guilty? I am going to slap that guy. I am going to deal with him myself.”

Officers tried to calm Daniels down and explained that his alleged attacker had simply pleaded not guilty at court.

Daniels responded: “I am tired. I am going to kill that guy.”

When he was told he would be arrested if he continued to behave in the same manner, he said: “F**k. I don’t care.”

He was then taken to Hamilton Police Station where he spent a night in the cells.

In Magistrates’ Court this morning, Daniels continued to shout and swear in the courtroom.

He told Mr Warner: “He attacked me. I will slap his ass when I see him. He assaulted me and you guys let him off.

“I don’t give a s**t; do what you want to do.”

After Mr Warner told him he was prepared to deal with the offence by way of a conditional discharge, Daniels continued to voice his disapproval, saying he had an “issue” with the restrictions Mr Warner wanted to impose on him.

The Senior Magistrate then ran out of patience with the defendant, and imposed a 30-day prison sentence on him adding: “You need a cooling-off period. You will go to prison for 30 days.”

Daniels continued to remonstrate and Mr Warner ordered him to be taken out of court.

Daniels’ last words as he was escorted from the dock were: “F**k it. F**k you all.”
