Griffith gets top tourism job in Barbados
Former Tourism chief Billy Griffith has landed a new job heading up the industry in his native Barbados, according to news reports.
Mr Griffith served as director of the Department of Tourism here for six years until the body was disbanded and replaced by the Bermuda Tourism Authority last year.
According to The Daily Nation newspaper, former hotelier Mr Griffith has now been appointed chief executive officer of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc, one of two new organisations set up to develop the industry on the island.
During his time in Bermuda, Mr Griffith also served as president of the Bermuda Resort Hotels, president of the Bermuda Hotel Association, co-chair of the Bermuda Alliance for Tourism, and president of the Hotel Employers of Bermuda.
