Name change for Caron Bermuda

The addiction treatment service Caron Bermuda has rebranded as Pathways Bermuda, as the non-profit expands its therapy options for the Island.

Effective this month, administration will switch over from the United States -based Caron Treatment Centres to Pathways Bermuda, which will continue as a strategic partner of the American organisation.

Gita Blakeney Saltus, executive director of Pathways Bermuda, said the transition would give the group “the flexibility to offer more focused local services and programmes, while at the same time retaining full access to Caron’s world-class treatment, expertise and support”.

The group has served nearly 3,000 people since its local foundation in 2007, including more than 500 through its adolescent and family programmes. Eighty people and their families have been treated overseas at Caron’s treatment centres in America.

Pathways Bermuda runs educational programmes as well as outpatient and aftercare services at its facility in Smiths.

The group also hopes to expand its adolescent and family services, citing a growth in demand.
