Library promotes the benefits of membership
Residents are being encouraged to discover a huge range of resources they can now access at the Bermuda National Library — and could be in line for a prize if they join up.
The facility is promoting the benefits of membership — which now include access to an expanded e-book collection and free music downloads — during Library Card Sign-up Month this month.
Head librarian Joanne Brangman said: “The library has several new services to offer Bermuda’s residents.
“These include an expanded e-book collection, free music downloads, and two new online language learning tools, this includes tools to learn English for our expatriate residents for whom English is a Second Language. Coming soon will be online homework help and e-magazines.”
At both BNL locations on Queen Street and Reid Street, members have access to free Wifi, internet terminals, e-books, the largest collection of Bermudian history books and periodicals, audio books, local and international newspapers and magazines and outreach services for seniors and homebound residents.
“Our library provides residents of all ages with the tools they need to succeed. We provide resources that can be accessed in-house or online, all with a free library card.” Ms Brangman said.
Members of the public who join or renew their membership this month be eligible for a prize.
New applicants should present current mail for address verification, along with identification. Call 295-3104; e-mail library@gov.bm or visit the BNL website at www.bnl.bm for more information.
