Tourists taken to hospital following taxi crash

A visiting family were taken to hospital after a taxi they were travelling in crashed yesterday afternoon.
According to a police spokesman, the accident took place on Somerset Road, Sandys, near the junction with Beacon Hill Road at about 3.30pm.
The taxi was in a collision with another car and ended up on its side.
Although neither driver was injured, the taxi’s passengers — believed to be a 52-year-old man, a 50-year-old woman and a girl aged ten who are holidaying on the Island — were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital by ambulance for medical assessment before being discharged.
