National Training Plan up for discussion
The National Training Board and the Department of Workforce Development will host a pair of town hall meetings next week to discuss the National Training Plan.
A Ministry spokeswoman said that meetings would take place on Tuesday and Thursday at both ends of the Island, with the organisers seeking feedback from the public on phase two of the plan.
The plan offers several recommendations that will enable Bermuda “to develop a competitive workforce that can participate in a global market, including expanding entry level positions including internships and apprenticeships, highlighting pathways that exist for careers in the International Business, Hospitality, Construction and Health Sectors, implementing grassroots trades education in schools and offering incentives for various sectors.”
On Tuesday, a meeting will be held at St James Church for west end residents, while on Thursday another meeting will be held at Francis Patton School for east end residents.
Both meetings are scheduled to begin at 6.30pm and continue until around 8pm, and will feature panellists from the National Training Board.
