Teacher charged with sexual offences
A teacher has been charged this morning with a series of sexual offences involving three young girls.
The defendant, a guest worker who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was charged with ten counts of sexual exploitation of a young person and five counts of intruding on the privacy of a young person.
Three different complainants are listed in the 15 charges, the oldest of which date back to 2012.
He was not required to enter a plea as the matter will be heard by the Supreme Court. He remained silent throughout proceedings.
Following bail arguments, Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner granted the defendant $25,000 bail with a like surety on the condition that he wear an electronic monitoring device and abide by a 24-hour curfew restricting him to his home.
He was also ordered to surrender travel documents.
