Man accused of sexually exploiting eight-year-old
A Hamilton Parish man has been accused of sexually touching an eight-year-old girl at a beach, and making advances on two other girls.
The 57-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was charged in Magistrates’ Court this morning with two counts of sexually exploiting one young person and invading the privacy of two others, aged ten and 12. All of the charges are said to relate to a single incident on September 1 this year.
The defendant was not required to enter a plea because the matter must be heard by the Supreme Court, and remained silent throughout proceedings.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded the defendant into custody until next month, when the matter is scheduled to return to the courts to be mentioned.
