Hotel to host annual conference
A Philadelphia-based organisation that acts as “a catalyst for positive change and growth in the black community through education, enrichment and empowerment” is holding its annual conference and retreat on the Island this week.
GirlFriendConnect is a subsidiary of Mind Body and Soul Connections, with a mission to “create a single source, multichannel, value-added network for its membership and business partners”. GFC believes successful black businesses “empower our communities and gives us options, a voice and a place at the table when decisions are made”.
The theme for this year’s conference, organised in collaboration with the African Diaspora Heritage Trail Bermuda Foundation, is ‘Transitions: Navigating Change and Embracing Life’.
The conference is being held at the Cambridge Beaches Resort and Spa and workshops take place from tomorrow to Saturday, starting at 10am until noon each day.
A variety of packages are available to residents to attend the conference. Residents can attend each session for a fee of $30, or enjoy a buffet breakfast and the workshop for $60.
