HMS Argyll is heading to Bermuda to provide disaster relief assistance after Hurricane Gonzalo.

The Royal Navy warship is steaming towards the island from the Caribbean and could get here as early as Saturday.

The Type 23 Frigate has been on counter narcotics patrols in the Caribbean.

But she has been called for by the Bermuda Government in the wake of the hurricane to provide emergency assistance.

She could come into Dockyard on Saturday and will most likely berth at the Commercial Berth.

The ship is based in Plymouth and is the longest-serving Type 23 frigate in the Royal Navy.

Built in the late 1980s at the Yarrow Yard in Scotstoun on the Clyde in Scotland she was commissioned in 1991.
