Firefighters were called out this afternoon after reports of a generator on fire.

“On arrival, we found there had been a small fire in the electrical panel that was extinguished by the homeowner prior to the power being switched off,” a spokeswoman said.

The fire was in Hamilton Parish at about noon.

The Bermuda Fire Service advised the homeowner to have an electrician attend before using power.
