Bishop gives thanks to God
Bishop Nicholas Dill released the following statement on behalf of the Anglican Church of Bermuda:
“The Anglican Church of Bermuda, giving thanks to Almighty God for our safety and security during Hurricane Gonzalo, would like everyone to know that all our churches will be conducting their usual services tomorrow (Sunday, October 19).
“We encourage all who would join us in worship to do so only if it is safe and advisable.”
“The service which is broadcast from Bermuda Cathedral at 10.00am will be a specially themed ‘Thanksgiving’ service lead by young folk. All who are unable to attend an act of worship are encouraged to tune into FM89.1 to give thanks to God, and particularly to acknowledge, thank and pray for all in the Emergency Services, first responders and those involved in getting Bermuda up and running after our storms.
“We know that many in Bermuda and around the world were praying during the storm, and we know that in Christ Jesus, God heard our prayers.
“We rejoice that in the Spirit we can express our gratitude together now that the storm has passed.”
