Trial date set for man accused of sex exploitation
A trial date has been set for a 35-year-old man charged with the sexual exploitation of a young girl.
The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will go before a Supreme Court jury on November 17.
He is accused of sexually exploiting the girl, then aged seven, between September 1, 2004 and June 30, 2005.
The Sandys man is further charged with two counts of intruding on the privacy of the same girl, causing her alarm, insult or offence, between January 1, 2005 and January 31, 2006 and between January 1, 2006 and June 30, 2006, respectively
During a previous court appearance, Puisne Judge Charles-Etta Simmons agreed to reduce the defendant’s bail, which had been set at $25,000 with a like surety.
The court heard today that he had yet to post bail so will remain in custody until the next mention date on November 10.
