Firefighters descended on the Riddell’s Bay area tonight to tackle a large brush fire.

Six vehicles and 11 firefighters attended the scene at around 8:45pm.

Fire crews spent more than two hours tackling the blaze, which covered an area of 50ft by 80ft.

No one was injured as a result of the fire and by 11pm the blaze was under control.
