Today’s BA flight cancelled
British Airways has cancelled its London Gatwick flight to and from the Island today.
A spokeswoman said: “Following the cancellation of today’s service, we have arranged for all Bermuda departing customers to be accommodated on BA 2232 leaving on December 11.
“Customers have been provided with alternative travel options and have been contacted via text message where possible and are being proactively rebooked.
“For passengers trying to return to the island on BA 2233 from London today we are rebooking those customers onto other services to ensure they can get to Bermuda as soon as possible.
“We appreciate that the delay is frustrating and we apologise to our customers for any inconvenience.”
The spokeswoman said the cancellation was due to “important aircraft maintenance”. It is understood passengers were told an “operational concern” was to blame.
BA is advising passengers to call its contact centre at 1-800-AIRWAYS.
