The Senate this morning approved two draft orders giving protection to employees reporting misconduct in the workplace.
The changes were made to the Good Governance Order 2014 and the Employment (Protected Disclosures) Order.
It will protect employees from financial retaliation or loss of employment when reporting illegal or inappropriate conduct.
Home Affairs Minister Michael Fahy told the Upper House that the orders were aimed to protect employees and the public at large.
