A Russian aircraft carrying diplomatic mail landed at the LF Wade International Airport last night.

Aaron Adderley, general manager of the airport, said: “A Russian Ilyushin transporting diplomatic mail arrived at 7pm last night, and departed at 7.45am this morning.”

Mr Adderley said the plane was refuelled while in Bermuda, but he couldn’t say where the aircraft had come from, or where it was going.

Ilyushin has manufactured dozens of aircraft types, including a wide variety of military planes.
