A driver and his passenger escaped unharmed after their car went over an embankment in Southampton.

The 19-year-old male and his female passenger were found by police in a nearby property shortly after the vehicle veered off Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Church Road.

The accident happened at around 4am on Saturday.

The vehicle was extensively damaged and was later towed away from the scene.
