Trash build-up to be tackled

Spanish Point residents are questioning why their trash is piling up on street corners, three days on from the customary pick-up day.
The Pembroke district ordinarily gets trash collected on Tuesdays, or occasionally on Wednesday.
The queries come just a day after the appointment of a new Minister for Public Works, with former Premier Craig Cannonier taking the helm yesterday.
According to a Public Works spokesman, however, the rubbish will be taken care of imminently.
“Garbage collection crews are working all the east zones today, including Spanish Point, to get it completed prior to the start tomorrow of the Bermuda Marathon weekend event,” he said.
