Firefighters battle Pembroke house fire

Firefighters extinguished a blaze at a Pembroke home this morning.
According to spokeswoman Sergeant Russann Francis, the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service dispatched two fire trucks and eight firefighters to a reported house fire on Mill Point Road at about 6am.
Two firefighters dressed in breathing apparatus were able to extinguish the blaze, which was said to be contained in the home’s basement.
No one was injured in the incident, but there was extensive heat and smoke damage to the residence.
