Two professional jazz musicians will tomorrow be performing alongside local artists and students at Warwick Academy’s annual Jazz Gala Evening.

Jazz trumpeter Derrick Gardener and saxophonist Albert Rivera will be performing with the Warwick Academy Jazz Band at the sold-out event, as well as local jazz musicians Tony Bari, Stanley Gilbert and Ronnie Lopes.

The saxophone portion of the evening will be dedicated to the late Dr Neil Burnie.

In the run-up to the gala Warwick Academy today invited other schools to participate in workshops with Mr Gardner and Mr Rivera.

A spokeswoman said this event was hosted “so all of Bermuda get to take advantage of the skills and expertise these musicians bring to the Island.”
