‘Wanted’ Jamaican national deported
Minister of Home Affairs Senator Michael Fahy has announced today that in fewer than four days after the Department of Immigration posted a “Wanted Person” poster on its website, Robert George McFarlane has been apprehended and deported.
According to Sen Fahy, the quick apprehension of Mr McFarlane, a Jamaican national, is a testament that the public stands with the immigration department in its quest to clamp down on those who remain on the Island illegally.
Sen Fahy has offered his thanks to the general public for coming forward and providing details relating to the whereabouts of Mr McFarlane. All leads were helpful and allowed immigration officers to act expeditiously. Mr McFarlane left Bermuda yesterday.
The general public is encouraged to continue to contact the Department of Immigration with information about foreign nationals who are alleged to be in Bermuda illegally without permission.
Information can be submitted by calling 297-7950 or 297-7694, or via the immigration hotline on 296-5202 or the Immigration Online Tips website at //wwww.doiapps.gov.bm/immigration/.
