Argus to help fund education centre

Alison Hill, chief executive officer of Argus, and Stephen Coddington, president of the North Village Community Club

The Argus Group has donated funds towards the North Village Community Club that will assist in the creation of an education centre.

The new centre will offer youth camps to students as well as coaching sessions on sport strategy, health, nutrition and diet.

A homework club will be available for students at the centre, while parents and guardians will be offered seminars on a number of topics, including financial planning for higher education, signs of bullying and effective anti-bullying approaches.

There are more than 110 youth members ranging in age from 5 to 16, who participate in activities at the North Village. “We would like to thank Argus for its donation to the education centre,” said Stephen Coddington, the North Village president.

“We are best known for our athletics but as a true community club, we are excited to expand our activities to include educational programmes for our students and their parents.

“Being a good athlete requires a healthy body and mind, and that is exactly what we will promote in our new centre.”

Alison Hill, chief executive officer of the Argus Group, added: “We are proud to help the North Village Community Club with its first education centre.

“At Argus, living a healthy and active lifestyle is one of our key focuses, as evident in our recently launched Thrive programme.

“By offering educational sessions on nutrition and health, as well as an outlet to play sports, the North Village Community Club is providing young people with a great start in life.”
