A sailor requiring “urgent treatment” for gastric problems was brought to shore this weekend for an operation, according to the Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre.
The skipper of the 152ft British sailing vessel, Pink Gin, was picked up by ambulance shortly before 10am on Saturday when the vessel came in to berth at Ordnance Island, St George’s.
As of this evening, the sailor remained in hospital but was said to have been treated successfully. The vessel remains moored at Ordnance Island.
