Music success: songwriter Chelsea Amber
A successful songwriter with strong Bermuda roots has picked up two awards at the East Coast Music Awards in Canada.
Chelsea Amber — daughter of Bermudian Thomas WL Nisbett and the granddaughter of Anglican Church Canon Thomas Nisbett — was a double winner at the Saturday afternoon awards ceremony.
Ms Nisbett saw her album Introducing Chelsea Amber named both the R&B/soul recording and also the gospel recording of the year.
She told fans on her Twitter and Facebook pages that she was “blown away” by the two awards.
The Juno award nominee has long been making a name for herself in Nova Scotia, Canada, and her award-winning album is her third album to date.
