More than 50 Howard University alumni attended a reception on Wednesday evening for Dr Wayne Frederick, the university’s new president.
Hosted at Gombey House by former Premier Dr Ewart Brown and his wife, Wanda, the event was designed to increase the financial support to the university from Bermuda.
Dr Frederick, a transplant surgeon, urged the guests to continue their support of Howard and to remember the unique role that the university continues to play in the education of international students.
“Howard is an iconic institution because of the service that is given by its graduates,” he said. “We prepare our students to face the very real challenges this world has to offer.”
