A new mobile app has been launched aimed at keeping Bermuda abreast of upcoming events and promotions.

Event promoters and businesses can use Bermuda’s Very Own Events App (BVOapp) to gain exposure in their marketing.

Users can interact with information and share data via various social media sites directly through the app.

It has been launched by Bermudian Ivan Outerbridge and was nominated for the worldwide contest Winter Best Mobile App Award in 2015.

As well as events and promotion listing, the app features vendor listings, an image gallery, visitor information, as well as news and social media.

Mr Outerbridge said: “Many Bermudians use various social media vehicles to stay in touch with what goes on locally and I thought it would be really cool to have all of the events, concerts, performances, sporting events and games come to our very feature-rich smart phones.

“We know that people like to attend the best events and look forward to them.

“Now they can always know what is coming up and even share the events, vendors, sponsors with others.

“They can take photos and post them directly to their own social media pages — from the BVO events app.

“This app is developed for us, with Bermuda in mind. BVOapp offers longer exposure times than traditional media, for example we offer three months and more of exposure on everyone’s phones.

“Everything will reside in the mobile app on the device.”
