As part of a renewed crackdown on traffic violations, the Bermuda Police Service were out in force over the weekend.
According to a police statement, 59 traffic tickets were issued, as well as 65 motorist notices, which explain behaviour without a formal ticket, and 18 arrests were made.
“The goal of the roads policing initiative is simply to raise awareness about the risk of serious injury or death from driving or riding at excessive speed, without due care and attention, driving or riding while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” the statement said.
