While there was non-stop action on land for Bermuda Day, the holiday weekend proved a quiet one for Bermuda Maritime Operations, with only a few minor incidents.
On Saturday afternoon, Bermuda Radio received a VHF call from Tiger Tug, reporting that the vehicle was disabled in the area of Hinson’s Island.
A broadcast for assistance was made and answered by Happy Cat, which towed Tiger Tug back to its mooring at Riddell’s Bay.
On Sunday, Bermuda Radio received a cell call from two people on a 20ft powercraft, which was disabled off in the vicinity of Clayhouse Inn with a suspected flat battery.
A call for assistance was put out on VHF, and a 30ft vessel offered to help to tow the stricken vessel back to the shore.
