Police responded to two crashes over the Bermuda Day Holiday, neither of which resulted in serious injuries.

At around 10.45am yesterday, emergency services attended the scene of a two vehicle collision on South Road in Devonshire, near the junction with Brighton Hill Road involving a motorcycle and a taxi.

A Police spokesman said: “The motorcycle rider, believed to be a 40-year-old Sandys man and his pillion passenger, believed to be a 37-year-old Sandys woman, sustained non-life threatening injuries.

“There were no other injuries reported, however both vehicles were damaged.”

At around 8pm yesterday officers responded to a second crash, this one on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish, near the junction with Green Bay Road.

“It appears that a car was being driven along North Shore Road when it collided with a utility pole, the spokesman said. “The driver, a 30-year-old Hamilton Parish woman and her female passenger were apparently treated at the scene by EMTs for minor injuries. The damaged vehicle was later towed from the scene.”

Police are still making inquiries into the crash, and witnesses are asked to contact Constable Cletus Cyrus at 293-2222.
